Hurricane Helene left Swannanoa without reliable access to fresh food and local vendors without income. In February 2025, that market began as a community effort, spearheaded by Deana Lytle.
This season marks an important step forward. We are launching a community-funded food access program that allows neighbors using EBT and SNAP benefits to shop at the market through a sponsor-supported token system.
We are expanding programming with live music, kids’ activities, and wellness days. This is a gathering space where the community connects, and local growers and artists thrive.
We are also actively seeking additional farm vendors for local produce, meats, and food products.
Want to get involved?
We’re back and growing, and we want YOU to be part of it. Whether you’re a local vendor, musician, community organization, sponsor, donor, or volunteer, there is a place for you at the market.
From live music to community programming, from fresh food to local partnerships, this market is built by and for the community.
